The Government of India has announced 50,000 Atal Tinkering Labs from 2025. Each selected school will receive ₹20 lakh to establish the lab, purchase ATL equipment, run STEM activities, and comply with Atal Innovation Mission guidelines.

Currently, there are 73 Atal Tinkering Labs in Pune. These schools are already practicing application-based learning using ATL equipment and exploring innovative learning methods.

We need to establish more Atal Tinkering Labs in Pune and its suburbs. The ATL curriculum is thoughtfully designed to help young learners explore the world of STEM education.

As of now, 73 schools in Pune have been selected to run Atal Tinkering Labs. These schools are already conducting ATL sessions, robotics challenges, and STEM-based projects. Students are building prototypes, participating in innovation challenges, and even filing patents.

But this is just the beginning. With over 1,000+ schools in Pune and PCMC areas, there’s a huge opportunity to bring ATL to every corner, especially government and rural schools.

One Of The Atal Tinkering Labs In Pune Is Acing The Game

MKSSS, a Pune-based school received an Atal Tinkering Lab grant in 2017. The school soon started seeing challenges coming its way such as disorganized material, improper storage, lack of documentation, limited resource visibility, and coordination issues. Due to these challenges, the school started noticing a decrease in activity pace. That’s when MKSSS partnered with ATALUP. 

ATALUP stepped in with a structured, end-to-end solution that addressed every challenge schools faced. From guiding them through the ATL grant application to ensuring timely lab setup with reliable vendors, ATALUP made the entire process seamless. They trained teachers, provided year-long activity calendars, and helped schools integrate ATL into their regular schedules. The school soon went from 100 activities in 6 years to 3,158 in just 27 days with the help of ATALUP.
